Follow the Drau Cycle Path through alpine foothills and green meadows towards Lienz. This stage includes gentle climbs rewarded with fine mountain views.
The ride from Spittal an der Drau to Lienz follows the Drau Cycle Path through the Upper Drava Valley. You will pass meadows dotted with traditional farmhouses, the market town of Oberdrauburg with its historic tower gate, and enjoy continuous views of the Gailtal and Lienz Dolomites before reaching Lienz.
Today’s ride takes you across the border into Italy’s South Tyrol. Cycle through the Puster Valley, passing small churches and farmsteads before reaching Bruneck.
The route from Lienz to Bruneck takes you through the scenic Puster Valley, following the Rienz River past small Tyrolean villages and church steeples. Along the way, you will see views of the Dolomites, before gradually climbing towards Bruneck.
Your final cycling stage follows the Rienz River to Bressanone before continuing through vineyards and apple orchards in the scenic Adige Valley, offering beautiful views of the surrounding Dolomite mountains and charming alpine villages. The route then gently descends into Bolzano, a city where Italian and Austrian cultures meet.
